This webbpage describes an initiative/company developed by me - Ingvar Rönnbäck - that wants to promote another development. Through education, dialogue, studies, evalutation, projects and debate ADEP works to strengthening the possibillities for different actors that searches for other perspectives and practices than established powerful global actors presents and force on the rest of the world. Yes, the neoliberal global order is a impossible project. It produces deep conflicts, injustice, environmental stress and a culture that is shallow. We need efforts on every level of society that promotes peace, respect for human rights, and sustainable development.
Another Development is a concept developed by many actors from south and north, that had an interest for disseminating mainstream thinking on development and build alternative visions that showed possibilites for the future. If you want to look for the roots of another development thinking and what the dialogue produced, I suggest that you read Development Dialogue published by Dag Hammarskjöld Foundation. In the early journals from 1970´s you find interesting writings on another development (on p.2 at this website you can read more. Marc Nerfins definition is clarifying). Since then, new questions have been raised, but always rooted in a vision that sees sustainable practices as necessary for human survival and quality of life.
If you need support in your work, I am willing to do what I can, and by the means that are mentioned above. I have a background in working with civil society organizations, international development co-operation, within three universities (education and research), at Sida as programme officer for humanitarian assistance and conflictmanagment, and as a consultant that have given me the opportunity to work with a wide range of actors in society. I have done studies and evaluations for Swedish government, authorities, civil society organizations, municipalities and others. I have also written three books with others, and have expericence of leading projects and organizations (on p.5 you can read more about services and accomplished assignments).
